Hiking & Trail Access
• Highline Trail: 25 miles to “The Loop” trailhead, 34 miles to Logan Pass.
• Grinnell Glacier: 70 miles to Many Glacier Hotel. From there, the hike is 10-11 miles round-trip.
• Avalanche Lake: Approximately 15 miles to the trailhead. The hike is about 5 miles round trip.
• Hidden Lake: From Logan Pass the hike is about 5 miles round trip.

Park Access, Entry & Going-to-the-Sun Road
A Park entry pass is included and is required.
The Park discontinued the reservation system, but will have limited parking availability and duration (2-3 hours) throughout the summer.
• West Glacier— About 2 miles
• St. Mary entrances— About 50 miles
• Logan Pass—About 32 miles
• Boat tours—Available at Lake McDonald Lodge, Many Glacier Hotel, Two Medicine, and Rising Sun (on St. Mary Lake)
At the Apgar Visitor Center. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Lake Access
Private lake access from the property
Swimming is allowed. Lake McDonald is cold, but refreshing on a hot day.
Watercraft provided include canoes, kayaks, and Stand-up Paddleboards.
Glacier Park Boat Co. rents motorized boats in Apgar and at Lake McDonald Lodge. Motorized boats from outside the Park must undergo a 30 quarantine.
No fishing license is required inside the Park.

Wildlife & Safety
Very rare.

Bear spray is provided and should be carried in such a way to be immediately deployable.
All food must be stored inside the cabin(s), or in bear-proof storage containers (not provided).

Weather & What to Pack
June and July.
Temperatures range from mid-50’s to high 90’s.
Weather in the Glacier National Park micro-climate can be unpredictable. “Be Prepared” is the best weather advice.
Wildfire smoke can be problematic when fires burn in the Pacific Northwest. August and September most commonly experience wildfire smoke.
Layers of technical clothing is recommended. Wind and rain protection is recommended. Avoid cotton. Ideal footwear would have a durable sole for walking on rocks. If ankle stability on rough terrain is a concern, footwear should provide ankle support.

Outdoor Use & Fire Rules
There is a fire pit on the lakeside patio.
In drought years the Park Service will ban open fires. Check with the Visitor’s Center for current fire permissions.
Gas and charcoal grills are available for use.
Cabins have outdoor lights.
Yes - Drones require FAA permission.

Emergencies & Park Services
Logan Health Medical Center in Kalispell, approximately 50 minutes from Crown of the Continent properties.
Land based response times depend on your location. Two Bear Air Rescue provides aviation support to Glacier National Park.

Use caution. Have bear spray at the ready in case of bear or mountain lion encounters.
